This year, in preparation for the plan, I attended several online seminars from blauwasser.de . I have to say that each seminar was excellently prepared and conducted. I highly recommend it.

Seminar online user course: The #electrics of the boat diesel
What should you do if nothing happens when you press the start button or turn the ignition key? This is when you'll definitely need to check the engine's electrical system!
The focus of the seminar
Overview of engine electronics
Introduction and explanation of the components
Starter: Connection diagram and internal components
Disassembling a starter motor
Alternator: connection diagram and internal components
Disassembling an alternator
Testing and measuring options using on-board equipment
Glow plug system: Construction and testing of glow plugs and relays
Interaction of instruments and donors
Selection of cables, switches and fuses
Tips for troubleshooting engine electrical systems
A great seminar with simple explanations of complex concepts. With a mix of theory and practical presentations!
The speakers
Dr. Robert Möckel
Sönke Roever
Online seminar: #Provisioning and nutrition on board bluewater yachts
In the past, the cook was often considered the secret captain on board old ocean-going ships. This is, of course, somewhat exaggerated, but there's also a lot of truth to it.

Overview of the seminar's main topics
Choice of pantry equipment
The basic equipment with spices, sauces, grains, seeds, etc.
Shopping correctly
Shelf life: Boiling, salting, pickling, fermenting and cooling
Tips and tricks for storing food
Homemade bread, cheese, sprouts, sauerkraut and more
fishing
Practical tips for on the go
Waste disposal
Great job. Live cooking for the galley, plus tips and tricks.
The speakers
Claudia Clawien and Jonathan Buttmann

Online seminar: Understanding and using #Weather software (live)
Reliable weather information is a crucial foundation for the success of a sailing trip. For example, the weather determines the wind, which propels us forward. At the same time, however, it also poses numerous hazards such as thunderstorms, gusts, or waves. What we as sailors need in this context is a forecast. These days, software is almost always used for this purpose.

Overview of the seminar's main topics
• Explanation of basic terms
• Differences in data models
• Reading and interpreting data relevant to sailors
• Working with weather radar/satellite images
• Handling modern software such as Windy, Predictwind and Seaman
• Access weather data via Wi-Fi, mobile phone or satellite connection
• Trip planning with weather routing
• Routing with polar diagrams
A deeper look into the functionality of the individual apps and websites. Unfortunately, the topic of thunderstorms was somewhat neglected.

Online user course: Basics of yacht #electrics (live)
Over the course of a sailing yacht's life, the electrical equipment is arguably the most rapidly evolving. Just a few years after the yacht's first launch, desires for upgrades arise, and some devices turn out to be outdated after being purchased secondhand. New devices often also place new demands on the power supply, so as a sailor, it's almost impossible to avoid dealing with the electrical system—an electrical refit is necessary.

The focus of the seminar
The on-board network
Distribution and switch panel
cabling
Fuses
Batteries
Types
Characteristics
Dimensioning
Conversion to lithium batteries
Battery charging (on the move and in port)
Shore power connection
Basics of troubleshooting / Handling a measuring device
Practical demonstrations in the workshop
Security aspects
Great overview from power generation to batteries to on-board consumers.
